Exploring Tartosa

This is just a post to show off how pretty the town from Wedding Stories is. Hosted by Reamus Grinch… Enjoy!

Here’s the starter home with your host, Reamus in front of it… get used to seeing him. I was too lazy to move him out of the shots.

Another house. This one is occupied.

By these soap opera rejects. This is the most dramatic townie picture ever.

This town is so big on marriage they have wedding rings in their cobblestone… I’d hate to see what they do to cheaters here… Eeeep.

This house is gorgeous… not gonna sugar coat it. Damn.

I think it might be the wedding venue… but holy macaroni. It’s lovely.

Here’s the lounge or whatever. It’s pretty nice looking.

Another cute house.

These two houses are both just background decoration, but they are so cute!

A really fancy mansion. It looks like the house from the Godfather.

And last but not least… here’s a cute little house on an island. This is where I would live… cause fuck you all, I’m a hermit. A hermit on a gorgeous private island… so a fancy hermit.

What Gen7 would have looked like…

Hi there. I was asked months ago: What would Jett’s daughter have looked like all grown up?

Give or take on the phrasing of the question. I’m not gonna look up the comment to find the exact phrasing, but whatever! 😛 So I finally got the gumption to load up my remake save to see what Jett and Thalia’s daughter would have looked like.

So Long and Thanks for all the Fish

Hi everyone. I know it’s been a while… and that’s why I’m here.

I’m not going to go into any long speeches that start with things like “With a heavy heart,” or any nonsense like that. You all know me better than that. I’ll cut the bull shit and get to the point. I will not be continuing Rainbow Sundae.

I know… with the pretty inconsistent updating lately, I guess that was obvious. I just ran out of steam with this generations’ storyline. I hadn’t actually been playing any of the characters at all… just popping in the game to take posed screenshots. I know that’s how a lot of people write their simlits, but it just makes it too much work for me. It takes the joy out of the Sims.

Yeah, fuck me that sounds whiny as shit, but it’s the truth… If I’m not having fun, what’s the point?

Rainbow Sundae started as me just playing the Sims and taking pictures as I went along. Creating a story from what was happening in game… but with the later generations, I started drafting a storyline before the generation was even born and then playing the game to railroad the story in that direction. Which that worked… until Jett.

With Jett I had a story that I wanted to tell and I didn’t really play them at all. Jett was enrolled in university, but only so that he’d have something to do while I waited it for to be nighttime for the vampires to be willing to go out and not fry. Emi didn’t do anything at all. She was just on free will being a cute pest until it was time for her to rock. Aurora and Austen had jobs being super awesome musicians and painters.

Everything I did in my RB save was for the story I had planned. I don’t like using the pose player, but all I was doing was poking sims to convince them to do vaguely what I wanted them to do, then I’d write my story. This is fine and dandy… except it took a lot of time and I have other responsibilities/things I like to do. I work a full time job and I am a comic creator… so that takes up a majority of my time.

So I wasn’t enjoying writing RB anymore. Not gonna even deny it. I decided that after months of agonizing over having to write more. I was just going to wrap the story up with a big epilogue of what happened next… but there’s a problem. I lost my save files.

No… I don’t know exactly how it happened, besides I fucked up while doing a backup. I repaired my Sims 4 and I moved everything out of the folder to ensure a clean install… well I thought I had moved it to my aptly named folder “Sim Things”, but I did not. Sim Things contains backups of saves since before Rainbow Sundae was even a thing, but… it does not contain adult Jett and Emi along with their vampire friends… Which means I would have to recreate everything.

So instead…

I will do a little written Epilogue soon to say what was going to happen, but there will be no pictures. Sorry everyone.

I’m also sorry that I just don’t have it in me to continue Rainbow Sundae. I want to thank each and every one of you for following me along on this journey. I’ve had a lot of fun creating this goofy story of goofy people that swear too much and make questionable decisions constantly.

I will continue to see you all on the forums and I’ll continue to read and stalk your stories. I’m always here to talk or whatever. Thank you once again for being such a wonderful community of people.

Rainbow Sundae 6.4

I decided to follow Talia’s advice and try to immerse myself in Emily’s– No, Emerald’s life.

The club she spent so much time at wasn’t bad. The DJ’s were skilled at keeping the music pumping and it was nice to get a chance to spend some time out on the dance floor.

Rainbow Sundae 6.3

Life as the brother of Emily Grofield had never been easy, but it had gotten a lot harder recently.

I couldn’t begin to tell you what triggered her changes. I couldn’t even tell you if the personality shifts were instantaneous or gradual. She was always just either Emily or Emerald.

It was easy to tell which I was dealing with. They were like night and day. Bright, cheerful, and spacey versus lively, assertive, and confident. I’d say it’d be hard to like one over the other, but the cheerful girl was my sister… I don’t know who Emerald was.

Not that I believed her lie that Emerald was a separate person. It was obviously some sort of psychological break that occurred in response to the whole creepy blood thing with Remington.

Emily: “And then I asked the waiter if I could have a refill and he looked at me like I was crazy!”

Jett: “What do you expect? You asked him for a refill of ketchup!”

Emily laughed in glee.

Emily: “Yeah, but what was I supposed to call getting more ketchup?”

Jett: “Uh… I don’t know!”

Emily laughed and just smiled.

Emily: “This is nice.”

Jett: “What is?”

Emily: “Talking. Like normal people…”

Jett: “What do you mean?”

Emily: “You always treated me like a kid or like I was made of glass.”

Jett: “I didn’t treat you like you were made of glass…”

Had I? Or maybe the question was… Had I started treating her differently in the last few weeks? Was her behavior as Emily really so mundane that I hadn’t been treating her like a ticking time bomb?

Emily: “You did. I get it… I’ve been… hard to deal with. I always felt like I was torn in two, but not anymore. I feel sort of free.”

Jett: “Really?”

Emily: “Mmm hmm.”

Jett: “So the whole Emerald thing?”

Emily: “Emerald? Gosh… I haven’t heard her voice in weeks… I guess she fell asleep for good.”

Uh… Yeah.

A familiar voice interrupted our conversation.

Westley: “Hey Grofields, I’m glad I’m not late for the meeting of the good looking greens.”

Westley Damico, my best friend since childhood. He’s the son of my parents’ best friends, Amy and Duane.

Emily giggled.

Emily: “But I’m not that green!”

Westley: “Let me take a peek under that cowgirl outfit at your cow print so I can be the judge.”

Emily started to giggle uncontrollably and she shook her head no.

Jett: “Hey watch what you say about Emi.”

Westley: “Relax. It’s just a little harmless flirting.”

Jett: “This is Emily we’re talking about here. My sister?”

Westley: “Your very hot and suddenly emotionally stable sister.”

While I was contemplating whether or not I ever stomach my best friend to hooking up with my sister, she was introducing herself to a strange man at the end of the bar.

Emily: “Hiya.”

???: “Hello.”

Emily: “What’s the matter? You look so grumpy! I know a lot of good jokes that would cheer you up.”

???: “No, that’s okay. You just smell of grave dust and vampire. I can’t stand it.”

Emily: “Oh um sorry. Okay, bye I guess. Have a nice day.”

Emily: “I’m going to go dance. You guys should join me!”

I looked at my mostly full pint of beer.

Jett: “I’ll be down in a minute.”

Westley: “I’ll go with you, Emi.”

Emily: “Great! I’ve got some awesome new moves to show you.”

Westley: “I’ve got plenty of moves to show you too.”

I groaned in disgust.

Not too long after that, early morning…

It was early. I woke up to the sounds of Emily and Tia chatting. Wasn’t it too early to deal with Tia?

I grabbed some left overs and ate on the couch. Tia and Emily flopped down next to me.

Tia: “So Emi was telling me that your friend might have a little flame burning for her.”

Jett: “Westley? He’s just playing around.”

Tia: “How about you play around with me and the four of us go on a double date.”

Jett: “I… uh… I’m late for class.”

I scrambled up and shoveled the last bits of sandwich into my mouth. Smooth move, but I didn’t really have an answer.

Emily: “I told you it wouldn’t work. He’s very busy with school.”

Tia: “Are you sure he’s into girls?”

Jett: “I’m still right here…”

Tia: “Get to your dorky university so we can talk shit about you.”

Jett: “Nnnnngh.”

I got dressed and made the drive into the city to my university…

Today was the first debate of the school year for the Debate Guild.

I was excited to be a part of the debate, even if the topic of the debate was sleep inducing and my opponent was droll as dirt.

From my spot on the podium, I could see into the small audience. That strange man Emily talked to yesterday was sitting in the crowd. Maybe I was the paranoid one now, but he seemed to be watching me.

I tried to shake off the feeling and finish my argument.

I passed by the man as I took my seat. He rose to look at me. The corners of my lips raised in a nervous smile.

Jett: “Can I help you?”

???: “No, I was just seeing what sort of men the Grofields had become.”

The woman besides him laughed and stood up. My anger was flaring up as they walked off together.

The fuck?

20 minutes before sunset…

Westley: “So Tia seriously wants to go out with you?”

Jett: “I know.”

Westley: “Hey, was it Tia that went around telling everyone she had studied a year abroad in Simgrala and had a baby there, but had to put it up for adoption?”

Jett: “No, that was that one girl that wore the eyepatch until the face planted into the gym door.”

Westley: “Oh yeah! Then Tia seems like a good choice.”

Jett: “You’re just saying that because you want to date Emi.”

Westley: “Am I that transparent?”

Jett: “You’re a window. Fine, I give you and Emi my blessing, but I’m not in the mood to date anyone.”

Westley: “Oh come on, Tia isn’t that bad. Live a little. You’ve never had a girlfriend.”

Jett: “I haven’t had time.”

Westley: “But you have time now.”

Jett: “No, I don’t. Being Emi’s caretaker is still a full time job. It’s even more of a job now that Emerald is a thing.”

Westley: “Okay… now you’re going to have to explain.”

Jett: “My stupid ass cousin tried to use his vampire blood to cure her and she went from schizophrenic talking to herself to outright multiple personality disorder!”

Westley: “Wait what?!”

I told Westley the ordeal that I had been dealing with for the past little while. He took everything in stride. I guess I wasn’t too surprised he could accept vampires since he had been told growing up that his family were descended from aliens- there were weirdoes with delusions of being supernatural everywhere.

Jett: “And now she’s running around in a bodysuit calling herself Emerald and dancing with a bunch of vampires.”

Westley: “That’s pretty nuts. So do you think she’s just pretending?”

Jett: “That’s the problem. I can’t tell. I’ve tried to ask Emerald probing questions, but she just blanks out on me and doesn’t answer them. I’m not sure if it’s the doesn’t know the answer or if it is just playing dumb.”

Westley: “Emi has never been very good at playing dumb. She typically just floods you with answers.”

Jett: “I know… and her personality is so different as Emerald. I don’t want to believe it, but… I really feel like she might be a whole different person.”

Westley: “Have you considered bringing in outside help?”

Jett: “You don’t mean yourself, do you?”

Westley: “Nah, like a specialist. Maybe they could give some insights into what’s going on.”

Jett: “That’s a remarkably intelligent solution you offered. I’m surprised.”

Westley: “Got to have at least one. Damn though…”

Jett: “Huh?”

Westley: “I was just thinking of Emi in a body suit. You should I can’t come see her and her vampire friends?”

Jett: “No way.”

Westley left and I was alone with the tendril like shadows of dusk wrapping around my feet. Looking for professional help wasn’t a bad idea, but I knew any working mental health care professional would want to examine Emily and that wasn’t going to happen. She had see a lifetime’s worth of shrinks and was unlikely to want to meet more. That left me with a conundrum…

I found the solution in the university’s newsletter. The answer came in the form of a brilliant psychology student named Talia Phoenix. She was in her last semester of medical school and was slated to begin an internship at the best hospital in the City.

She agreed to meet me at the library.

A sunny morning outside the Laurel Library…

Talia: “Mr. Grofield?”

Jett: “Yeah, you can just call me Jett.”

Talia: “Alright Jett. You said you wanted to discuss your sister’s mental health?”

Jett: “Yes.”

Talia: “It’s pretty rude to talk about someone else’s mental health without them being present.”

Jett: “Err… yes well… It’s sort of a special circumstance.”

Talia: “Is it or are you just the meddling brother?”

Jett: “You know… you are pretty judgmental and abrasive for someone who agreed to meet me knowing the circumstances.”

Talia: “I don’t like people that look down on others for their mental wellbeing.”

Jett: “I’m not looking down on anyone! I love my sister and I’m just worried about her!”

Talia shrugged.

What was with this ice cold bitch? She agreed to meet me just so she could be a crispy twisted up twat?

Jett: “I don’t give a rat’s ass what you think. I just need your medical expertise. My sister is a diagnosed schizophrenic that has experienced a psychotic break and is now suffering from multiple personality disorder!”

Talia’s eyes widened a little as she took in the information.

Talia: “Oh, that is interesting.”

Jett: “I don’t find it very interesting! I’m worried sick about her.”

Talia: “Tell me about the personalities. Are they distinct? How many are there?”

Now she was actually paying attention. I told her about Emily and Emerald. I left out all the vampire nonsense. Somehow I didn’t think a psychologist would want to hear about things like that unless they are looking to commit someone. Talia’s eyes burned with an intense fire as we discussed my sister’s psychoses.

She didn’t offer any suggestions as she gathered her data, but she didn’t give any judgements either. I guess it was understandable that I hadn’t brought Emi after all.

It’s a shame that Talia’s personality seemed to range towards icy bitch on the normal or passionate inferno about her work. She was probably the hottest girl I’d ever met. Wait- focus. This is about Emi, not attractiveness.

Talia: “Are you listening, Jett?”

Jett: “Of course. So what do you suggest I do?”

Talia: “I’ll be frank with you… I think you should bring your sister in for observation.”

Jett: “I can’t do that… She’s been so happy.”

Talia: “Then I would suggest you monitor her closely. Become a part of both her lives.”

Jett: “…”

Talia: “That includes when she’s with her goth friends. They are important to her.”

Jett: “I know, but…”

Talia: “You want her condition to stabilize don’t you? Get to the root of what Emily Grofield wants and you’ll understand why Emerald exists.”

Nnnn.

Talia: “I have to get to office hour with Dr. Carter. I will talk to you soon.”

Jett: “Right. See you later, Talia.”

Talia: “We’ll discuss your sister’s progress over dinner soon. I like pho.”

Bye Ms. Phoenix…

Rainbow Sundae 6.2

Emily placed a hand over her heart and stared into my eyes.

Emily: “Oh God. You must be mistaking me for her… I’m sorry Darling, my name is Emerald.”

What?!

???: “Hey Emerald, is everything okay?”

Remington had given us a little space, but he made a beeline over.

Remi: “Don’t worry. We’re cool, Moss. Right guys?”

Emerald: “Remi, do I have a brother?”

Remi: “Shit…”

Remi: “Em’… we talked about this. He’s your brother… Jett?”

Emerald: “Ooooh!”

Emerald: “So you’re Jett? Emily told me so much about you! You’re even more lovely than she said.”

Remi: “Hey Em’… if this whole being Emerald thing has been some sort of long con or joke, you might want to knock it off. I don’t think Jett finds it as funny as I do.”

Jett: “For your sake Remi, it had better be a joke, because if your stupid meddling caused her to have a full psychotic break–“

Emerald: “You are adorable! I can see so much fire in your eyes.”

Jett: “What?”

Emerald: “Emily always said there was fire waiting to be lit in you.”

Jett: “Emi–“

Emerald: “For the last time, Darling. My name is Emerald. Emily’s asleep now.”

Jett: “I- I don’t understand.”

Emerald: “I’m tired too though, I think I’ll rest for a while. Remi, bring me a drink.”

Emily– no Emerald waved her hand at me lazily and walked away to the tables. I sighed.

Remi: “Ghouls are supposed to be a vampire’s servants… what the fuck.”

I sat down and looked over at Remington.

Jett: “Sit.”

He begrudgingly complied and sat down next to me.

Emerald: “Jett! You are the guest in this place. Act like one!”

Was Emi yelling at me? She’d never yelled about anything before. Gah.

Emerald: “You’re a mortal. You put yourself at risk acting like… acting like–“

Remi: “Yeesh, cool it Em’.”

Emerald: “He’s going to get himself killed.”

Jett: “Did you just say killed?”

Emerald: “If the Prince–“

Remi: “The Prince won’t mind a single visitor.”

Emerald: “Emily would be devastated if I let her brother die because he was sticking his nose where it didn’t belong.”

Remi: “Chill Em’, I’ve got this.”

Emerald: “Says the vampire that created a ghoul without the blessing of his sire!”

Remi: “Keep my Dad out of this! I’m not a childer. I don’t need his permission to do squat!”

Jett: “Can you two just shut up?!”

My voice started to spike as I spoke. They were spouting nonsense and talking like I wasn’t even here.

Jett: “What the holy hell is going on here?!”

I was too busy being at wit’s end to notice the dark purple man Emi had been dancing with walk over.

Moss: “I think the earlier assessment of everything being cool was incorrect. I’ll repeat my earlier statement: Is everything okay, Emerald?”

This guy’s voice was quiet. I shouldn’t have been able to hear his voice over the music, but the sound cut through the pounding beat and sliced through the tension. I looked over the bridge of my glasses at Remi. Everything was cool right?

Emerald: “Mostyn, this is apparently my brother. Isn’t he lovely?”

Mostyn sat down and looked over at me. I tried to give him a nonchalant look, but there was something just a little off about this guy. He was more like my uncle than Remington. I should probably watch myself.

Moss: “He is. He’s not a ghoul though? Remington, is he part of your herd?”

Remi: “Fuck no… I’d rather starve than drink his blood. He’s my cousin. The thought makes me gag.”

Jett: “I’m not here for any vampire weird shit. I was just here to check up on my sister. Our parents worry about her.”

Moss: “It must be nice to have a family that cares so much for you.”

Emerald: “It is. It’s lovely to finally be awake and to feel their love.”

Moss: “I can only imagine what it would be like. My family- did I have parents? I can’t remember anymore. I had… I have a cousin as well?”

Mostyn’s gaze started to wander off as he lost his train of thought. Remi’s eyes in turn went wide as another vampire came up to our table. This man was the same dark shade of purple as Mostyn, but he had none of the softness.

Mostyn looked over at the similar man and smiled.

Moss: “Roland, I’m glad I didn’t imagine you.”

Roland shook his head and put his hand on Moss’s shoulder.

Roland: “No, I’m real, Cousin. Now Remington, what trouble have you brought down on us?”

Moss stood up and smiled.

Moss: “I think I will get a Plasma Jane. I like those, don’t I?”

Roland: “Yes, you like them a lot.”

Moss: “Perfect!”

Moss wandered off and Roland took his seat. Roland looked over at Remington.

Roland: “Since you aren’t talking, make yourself useful.”

Remington stood up and pushed his chair back in with a scowl on his face.

Remi: “Be right back, Cuz. Watch what you say.”

I didn’t have much of a chance to say anything before Candy made her way over to our table.

Candy: “Scoot over, Roland. I want to sit next to Emerald’s brother.”

Roland: “I shouldn’t be surprised you already know him.”

She made a scooting gesture and Roland moved over into the chair that Remington had occupied. Candy sat down next to me and smiled.

I won’t lie. I felt a little safer with Candy next to me instead of Roland. It was the difference of sitting next to a lioness rather than a viper coiled to strike.

Candy: “You two do look so much alike! And you’re both really attractive… Don’t you think so too, Roland?”

Candy’s smile was mischievous as she looked over at Roland. He snorted and didn’t say anything.

Candy: “Don’t mind him. He’s just being a grumpy old man.”

Emerald giggled and leaned forward.

Emerald: “Jett and this vessel are so pretty because their parents are famous.”

Candy looked intrigued and she leaned forward closer to Emerald. I avoided looking since it put more of her chest on display. Okay, I may have peeked.

Candy: “They are? Anyone I know?”

Roland: “I don’t have time for gossip. Take your sister and go home, Human.”

I prickled up at his tone and stood up straighter in my chair.

Jett: “I’d love to. Come on Emi.”

Emerald snarled. She didn’t have the same fangs as a vampire, but it sort of reminded me of the time I caught Remington having a hissing contest against my cat, Wallace.

Emerald: “Emerald is not going anywhere! You’ll see the one you want returned to you in the morning.”

I wanted to scream. This was too stupid. Too convoluted to be true. I sucked in a breath and held it for as long as I could manage it.

Roland: “I don’t think she wants to leave. So that means it’s time for you to leave alone.”

Candy: “He doesn’t have to leave. He’s a guest.”

Roland: “He’s a liability.”

Candy: “I’ll keep an eye on him. No one would dare lay a finger on a human under the protection of the daughter of Lord Flash Silver.”

Roland: “One of the many children of…”

Candy: “Don’t be such an asshole.”

Roland grimaced. It was as close to an apology as Candy was going to get from the looks of it.

Candy: “Emerald or Emily or whatever her name is adorable and I like having her around. She’s a lot more fun that you stuffy lot of broody boys. She’s under Remington’s protection so she’s safe here, but her brother- wait, what did you say his name was?”

I groaned.

Jett: “My name is Jett and my sister is Emily. She’s just calling herself Emerald.”

Roland looked over at Candy with a odd look. Candy returned the look. I don’t think they bought my line, but they didn’t say anything. Emerald looked over me with a smile, but it wasn’t genuine.

Roland: “Candy, I’d suggest you stay out of family matters.”

Candy: “Nonsense. Jett is under my protection and that’s the end of it.”

Roland: “And what about Emerald?”

Candy: “Remington isn’t a fledgling, even if he acts like one. The Prince has no right to interfere with a neonate creating a ghoul, especially since she was willing. What do you think Emerald?”

Jett: “What the hell are you people talking about?”

Candy: “We’ll explain in time, but just know for now you and your sister are safe.”

Emerald: “Thank you, Candy! You too, Roland.”

Roland: “Don’t thank me for something I’m doing against my will.”

I put my head in my hands. Why was this happening to me? I should have just stepped in and stopped my cousin from destroying what little sanity was left in my sister.

Emerald: “Cheer up, Emily’s Little Brother. We both get what we want! I get to exist and well…”

Jett: “And well what?”

Emerald: “I’m sure there’s something, but I’m not sure I care!”

She giggled with glee.

Roland gazed at me from across the table with pity in his eyes.

Candy looked a little confused.

Tour of the new Grofield home and Queen Vickie’s

Cape Cornerstone

I made the Grofield family a new home because the Tiny Converted Warehouse home was too tiny for a family with two now young adult aged children. So I wanted to make a lovely weird little home for them.

The front yard is actually a tiered grounds covered in lush plants.

The entryway is a greenhouse so certain plants can be grown in the safety of the indoors.

An old Victorian factory located in Forgotten Hollow. No clue what they used to manufacture there, but not they just produce phat beats. Does anyone still say phat? Who cares, it’s a vampire club… they can use outdated lingo.

Rainbow Sundae 6.1

Emi’s been acting strange lately. Stranger than normal. But the strangest part is that for her… her acting strange is she’s acting normal.

I’ll try to avoid sounding like an Alice in Wonderland novel after this, but it was the only way I could describe Emi’s abnormally normal behavior.

After a few days, I thought she was back to normal when I heard her talking to herself in my parents room. I took my glass of mineral water and went in to check up on her.

Jett: “Hey Sis, talking to Emerald?”

Emily: “No, I was just telling Beryl how much I miss her.”

Oh.
